Research has shown that early intervention is the key to engaging children with autism spectrum disorders with the world and with other people, to fully develop their capabilities. We understand the importance of children getting this intervention at the earliest possible age.
Class size is limited to four children with a teacher and an assistant. Children in the early intervention class learn to work in small groups and follow simple instructions. Although the pre-academic skills important for transition into the next level are introduced, the focus is language, interaction, imitation and self-help skills.
Mom's Day - All moms are invited to visit their child’s class for the day. They get to see what their child does in a typical day at school.
Language Difficulty - Most children with autism spectrum disorders have some form of difficulty with language. At Westview, both receptive and expressive language difficulties are addressed
