The school for high-functioning children with autism spectrum disorder

Pre-kindergarten classes have up to seven students with a teacher and an assistant. The children receive instruction in pre-kindergarten academic skills such as alphabet and letter sounds, beginning writing skills and number concepts.

There is also an emphasis on acquiring social skills through peer interaction and group activities to teach appropriate play skills. Language development is incorporated into all areas of instruction.

As in the Early Childhood Development 2 classes, the pre-kindergarten groups are grouped primarily by receptive language abilities.
