Celebrating 45 Years of Westview

By Westview Communications

The Westview School celebrated Founder’s Day this week, honoring Ms. Jane Stewart’s vision and celebrating 45 years of a school built around seeing the possibilities in every child.

Gathering our entire school community for the celebration always feels very special. Seeing students from across campus assembled in Largent Hall, all dressed out in Westview blue, created a wonderful sense of school pride and connection as we honored the history that brought us together.

This year’s celebration was led by our 18 Westview High School students, who shared the story of Westview’s beginnings through five ideas that have shaped the school from the very start: SEE, CREATE, GROW, BELIEVE, and BECOME.

Our students talked about how Ms. Jane saw possibilities in children that others sometimes overlooked, ad how she created something different to meet their needs. What began as a small classroom in her home grew into The Westview School, a community grounded in the belief that every child deserves to be known, understood, and given the opportunity to grow.

The program concluded with students proudly holding up the words SEE, CREATE, GROW, BELIEVE, BECOME, and delivering the final message that connects Westview’s history to its future: “We are Different by Design.”

A special thank you to Ms. Kaylee Bond, Westview Art teacher, and Mr. Nelson, Music and Drama teacher, for working with our High School students to bring this year’s program to life.

Happy Founder’s Day, Westview! And happy 45th anniversary!
